Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the largest program of EU research and innovation with about 80 Billion Euros budget, which will be used as grants for 7 years (2014-2020) for scientific or research findings, innovations and the best ideas.

The mission of the program is to promote a brilliant science, to answer the public and industrial challenges.

 

Horizon 2020 is a financial instrument that should provide Europe competitiveness worldwide. This includes the economic growth and creating the new job places. For this reason, the Horizon 2020 has political support from European leaders and members of the EU Parliament.

European leaders have agreed that research and innovation support is a investment for the common European future.

 

Horizon 2020 tasks are : to develop world-class science, to avoid barriers in innovations’ field and create a favorable environment for them through cooperation in public and private sector.

 

The Horizon 2020 is open to everyone and is distinguished with a simple structure, thereby it is easier for people to take part in it and spend time.

 

Horizon 2020 national contact persons in Georgia are Ministry of Education and Science

together with number of other organizations and  Georgian Innovations and technologies Agency as well. They  are offering the following services :

  

  • Consultation on Horizon 2020 selected topic and action type;
  • Advice on administrative procedures and contractual issues;
  • Assistance to write proposal proposals;
  • Distribution of documentation (forms, guidelines, manuals, etc.);
  • Finding helpful partners.
