Young Innovators Nino Grigalashvili and Guram Tsirekidze will spend three-month internships in Italy with funding and organizing of Innovations Agency and Italian Embassy. Innovators' Competition winners within the studying course will visit the company which produces the brake systems for the world’s most prestigious automobile brands. They will visit Brembo’s innovative centers Kilometro Rosso and Città della Scienza. Besides they will visit business incubator Campania NewSteel - created by the help of Naples Federico II State University. The Innovator Competition is a result of the cooperation of the Italian Technological Innovation Foundation (COTEC) and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development’s Innovations and Technologies Agency (GITA). Contest was instituted between COTEC and GITA in 2018 by President Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic (who is COTEC's Honorary President) within the framework of his official visit in Georgia.
Giorgi Kobulia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Antonio Bartoli, Ambassador of Italy, and Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of Innovations and Technologies Agency awarded the winners. Italian Embassy organized a seminar on the topic "how to go from idea to production, from intuition to business", in different fields such as mechanics, informatics, innovative materials and life sciences. The date of the awarding and seminar was no randomly selected. This date is the "Day of Italian Scientific Studies", which is celebrated worldwide with the support of Italian education, universities and scientific researches, health and foreign affairs’ Ministries. This date is symbolic as well, because it coincides with the birthday of the great Italian inventor and Universal Genius, Leonardo da Vinci.
