A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development’s Innovations and Technologies Agency (GITA) and the USAID Economic Security Program

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development’s Innovations and Technologies Agency (GITA) and the USAID Economic Security Program.

Cooperation aims to stimulate Georgia's competitiveness and to support the development of a knowledge-based economy.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, it is planned to stimulate cooperation in strengthening technological startups and increasing the popularity of Georgian business. As a result, to create a high-value jobs facilitating investment in the business and engage them in the global value chain. Priority sectors such as intellectual services, creative industries, light industry and tourism are identified for cooperation.

The memorandum was signed by Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of the Georgia’s Innovations and Technologies Agency and Mark McCord, Head of the USAID Economic Security Program.
